The University of Otago Schools’ Liaison Office, in conjunction with the Division of Sciences, offers a number of Ngā Mahi-a-Ringa Pūtaiao Scholarships to students of Māori descent, who will be entering Year 12 or 13, in 2016. These fully funded scholarships provide a wonderful opportunity for Māori student to participate in the weeklong Hands-On at Otago programme, in Dunedin. The successful applicants will travel to Dunedin from 17-22 January 2O16, to experience a week of serious fun! The aim of the scholarship is to inspire and motivate young Māori students to develop their knowledge, skills and passion for science.
All Māori students must complete both a Scholarship Application Form (indicating that they are applying for the Ngā Mahi-a-Ringa Pūtaiao scholarship), and they must also complete, attach and submit a Hands-On at Otago Enrolment Form.
Please also find attached, a Ngā Mahi-a-Runga Pūtaiao Scholarship Information Sheet – which outlines what applicants will need to attach to their Scholarship Application Form.
NB: Students who are applying for the Ngā Mahi-a-RInga Pūtaiao will NOT be required to complete the ‘Personal Statement’ section of the Hands-On at Otago Enrolment Form - Students will only be required to complete the 500 word essay component, as a requirement of the Ngā Mahi-a-Ringa Pūtaiao Scholarship Application Form.
