New Zealand Immigration Service rEQUIREMENTS
NZIS is responsible for the issue of all visas for travel to New Zealand. All visa applications overseas can be made to the local NZ Embassy, Consulate or Trade Office; or through the student’s designated agent. A student must have a New Zealand visa before they can be enrolled in any educational institution. The selected institution is named on the visa, and if a student chooses to leave his place of study, his visa is cancelled.

New Zealand Education System
It is compulsory in New Zealand for children to start school from the age of 6 years. The current school system is broken into five areas as follows:
Pre School Ages 3 to 5 years
Primary School Ages 5 to 11 years
Intermediate School Ages 11 to 13 years
High School Ages 13 to 18 years
Tertiary Study Ages 18 years and above
Overseas students are welcomed into all courses where places are available. There are times however, where the course requested by the students is full, and no further places are available for that year. Should this happen, John Paul College will enrol the student into another suitable course where possible.
New Zealand Schools are regulated by the Government, and all courses are issued with a Government certificate. This assures a consistently high standard of education for all students.
